Vietnam financial sector focuses on AI data quality and emotional technology

The banking sector in Vietnam is focusing on establishing the necessary foundations for effective artificial intelligence (AI) integration. Experts emphasize that data quality is the primary determinant of AI intelligence. Dr. Dao Minh Tu of the Vietnam Banking Association noted that fragmented or inconsistent data can lead to inaccurate decisions and increased non-financial risks. Dr. Chau Dinh Linh from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking added that while banks have invested heavily in infrastructure like cloud computing and mobile banking, the focus must now shift toward standardizing and connecting distributed data to create a holistic view of customers.

In the insurance sector, FWD Vietnam has introduced ‘Ép Cam’, an emotional AI character designed to enhance customer interaction. This initiative combines AI technology with character culture to create a friendly digital companion that encourages users to focus on physical and mental health, moving beyond simple automation toward more personalized and empathetic digital experiences.
