Vietnam Sets 2027 Lunar New Year and National Day Holiday Schedule

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected option 1 for the 2027 Lunar New Year holiday, granting a continuous seven‑day break from 4 February to 10 February 2027 (Gregorian calendar) without any weekday‑date swaps. The proposal also includes a four‑day Vietnamese Culture Day holiday in November 2026.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has put forward a plan for the 2027 National Day holiday, proposing that public‑sector employees observe the holiday on 2 September 2027 with an additional adjacent day on 3 September. This creates a four‑day continuous holiday period from 2 September to 5 September 2027. The ministries have asked relevant agencies and employers to coordinate the schedules and inform workers in advance.
