Vietnam government reviews first‑half performance and sets second‑half priorities

Vietnam held a regular Government meeting on 4 July 2026, with Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and senior ministers in attendance. The conference examined the socio‑economic situation for the first six months of 2026 and outlined measures to achieve the year’s targets, notably a goal of double‑digit economic growth.

Prime Minister Hung highlighted external challenges such as the Middle‑East conflict disrupting trade and supply chains, and domestic pressures including macro‑economic stability, energy security and the need to shift the economic structure. He called on participants to analyse the first‑half context, forecast the second half, and implement policies to sustain growth and address emerging issues.

The meeting reaffirmed the Party’s strategic direction, coordination with the National Assembly and the broader political system, and emphasised the joint effort of public authorities, businesses and the public to maintain momentum for the remainder of the year.
