Vietnam greenlights E10 gasoline; most cars and motorcycles declared compatible
Vietnam is introducing ethanol‑blend gasoline (E10) nationwide beginning 1 June 2026. Automobile distributors report that the majority of cars produced in the last 15‑20 years can use E10 without engine modifications, while a few very old models may still require E5 to avoid durability issues. Honda Vietnam has officially confirmed that all its motorcycle models manufactured, assembled, imported or sold in the country since 1997 – including popular models such as the Super Dream, Wave Alpha and Future – are compatible with E10 and can continue operating without any technical changes.
Consumers are advised to purchase fuel from reputable stations, keep fuel systems properly maintained and follow regular service intervals to ensure optimal performance and longevity when using the bio‑fuel blend.
