Vietnam halts Vinh Hao bridge, Trà Lọt road after failures

Local authorities in Vietnam have closed two key transport routes following safety incidents. In Tuyên Quang province, the Vinh Hào suspension bridge over the Bạc River suffered a cable break that caused part of the deck to tilt. The Vinh Tuy commune government ordered an immediate stop to traffic, erected barriers and warning signs, and began investigations into the vehicle load and bridge condition.

In Đồng Tháp province, a landslide along the western bank of the Trà Lọt River collapsed about 20 m of a riverside road, severing traffic and damaging water‑supply pipes and nearby trees. The slide, triggered by recent heavy rains and river erosion, impacted several households and disrupted daily travel, school commutes and local commerce. Provincial officials have surveyed the site and are planning remedial works while urging residents to avoid the unstable area.
