Vietnam Health Ministry Launches Competition to Honor Preventive Health Workers

On 16 July 2026 the Ministry of Health of Vietnam announced a national competition for radio and television productions that highlight exemplary work in disease prevention. The contest, marking the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s Preventive Health Day, offers prize money of more than 300 million VND and is linked to the implementation of Party Resolution 72 and the Preventive Health Law that took effect on 1 July 2026.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong emphasized that the greatest successes of preventive health are the unseen ones – diseases that never break out and deaths that are avoided – thanks to the efforts of epidemiologists, laboratory technicians, health‑communication staff and grassroots health workers in remote and border areas. The competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens, foreign residents in Vietnam, health‑sector staff, digital content creators and students, and seeks submissions on models and solutions for disease prevention, public‑health awareness, recognition of outstanding individuals or teams, and support for vulnerable groups. Entries may be 3 to 10 minutes long and must be submitted by 15 September 2026.
