Vietnam expands preventive healthcare and medical expertise

Vietnam is seeing a significant shift toward preventive medicine and advanced medical training across several regions. In Ho Chi Minh City, a health screening program in Chanh Phu Hoa ward attracted over 1,200 residents, focusing on early detection of cardiovascular disease, kidney issues, metabolic disorders, and stroke risks.

In Ha Tinh province, authorities are allocating over 36.4 billion VND to provide free periodic health check-ups for priority groups. The province is also transitioning its elderly care model from reactive treatment to comprehensive, continuous health management within families and communities.

On a professional level, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 2026 Southeast Asian International Endoscopy Workshop. The event brought together medical experts from Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia to exchange expertise in advanced techniques such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to improve gastrointestinal diagnostics and treatment in the region.
