Vietnam Hospitals Forge New Cooperation Agreements to Boost Care Access

On 30 July 2026 the International University Hong Bang Hospital (HIU Hospital) signed a specialist cooperation pact with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City (UMC). The agreement allows HIU Hospital to receive clinical and laboratory support, joint training, research, digital‑health and AI initiatives, and to be listed as a referral centre for complex cases.

The same day the Cần Thơ Department of Health convened a conference in which city hospitals and regional health centres signed technical‑transfer agreements. These deals aim to bring basic surgical and treatment techniques—such as dialysis, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and orthopaedic procedures—to local facilities, reducing patient travel and cost while standardising care protocols. Both initiatives target higher quality treatment, staff development and broader patient access across Vietnam.
