Vietnam hospital cooperation and upgrades
Overview
In early July 2026, health officials in Ho Chi Minh City began preparing hospital directors for the launch of new basic‑level facilities, signalling the start of a broader effort to expand and modernise local health services.
By the end of the month, the initiative moved into concrete partnership and technical‑transfer stages. The International University Hong Bang Hospital signed a specialist cooperation pact with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, covering clinical support, joint training, research, digital‑health and AI projects, and establishing the hospital as a referral centre for complex cases. On the same day, the Cần Thơ Department of Health organised a conference where city hospitals and regional health centres concluded technical‑transfer agreements aimed at introducing basic surgical and treatment techniques—such as dialysis, endoscopy, ophthalmology and orthopaedic procedures—into local facilities. These steps aim to raise care quality, develop staff skills and broaden patient access across Vietnam.
