Vietnam hosts nationwide cultural festivals and events in 2026

Vietnam staged a series of cultural celebrations in 2026, ranging from large‑scale fireworks displays in Ho Chi Minh City marking a 50‑year anniversary to an expanded Da Nang International Fireworks Festival that added more than 2,000 seats to meet growing demand. In the capital, a giant tea‑pot made of over 1,000 traditional conical hats highlighted the country’s tea culture, while a youth “My Vietnam 2026” running event expected about 15,000 participants. Vietnamese athletes won gold medals at Asian karate and relay competitions, and a football tournament showcased the resilience of the Vietnamese diaspora in Russia.

The cultural outreach extended abroad: a Picasso painting commemorating Vietnam’s 1954 peace was exhibited at the Paul‑Eluard Museum in Saint‑Denis, France, and a Vietnamese food festival in South Africa promoted the nation’s cuisine. Additionally, Vietnamese cultural and language initiatives marked milestones such as the 5th anniversary of the global Vietnamese language teaching network and UNESCO‑linked heritage events.

These activities underscore Vietnam’s effort to promote its heritage, foster international cultural ties, and boost tourism and creative industries.
