Summer heat drives a sharp rise in electricity bills for many Vietnamese families. While air conditioners are the primary culprits, several other devices also consume significant power when used continuously or inefficiently. Water heaters running 24‑hours a day, refrigerators working harder in high ambient temperatures, and multiple fans (including misting and high‑capacity models) add to the load. Washing machines and clothes dryers are used more frequently as clothing becomes soiled with sweat, further increasing consumption. Even water pumps, often overlooked, operate more often due to increased bathing, laundry, and garden watering during hot periods. Usage habits such as leaving devices on, incorrect settings, over‑loading appliances, or using older, less efficient models amplify the electricity demand.
