Vietnam implements digital school reports and higher education reforms

Vietnam is advancing educational reforms through the implementation of digital school reports and the restructuring of its higher education system. Under Circular 70/2026/TT-BGDĐT, which took effect on October 8, 2026, schools are transitioning from traditional paper records to digital management systems. In provinces like Nghe An, parents are already using platforms such as VNEDU to monitor student academic progress and training results via secure mobile access.

Simultaneously, the nation's higher education sector is undergoing a significant reorganization. This process involves streamlining university networks, reviewing facility standards, and innovating governance models to address issues such as fragmented resources and overlapping training programs. The reform aims to shift focus toward strategic sectors, high technology, and basic sciences, while encouraging the shared use of expensive research infrastructure and ensuring that both public and private institutions meet strict quality standards.
