Vietnam implements healthcare reforms under Resolution 72-NQ/TW

Vietnam is implementing major healthcare reforms following the Politburo's issuance of Resolution 72-NQ/TW, which aims to build a modern, equitable, and sustainable health system. The resolution prioritizes disease prevention and sets a long-term vision for 2045 to align national health indicators with developed regional nations. Key objectives include moving toward free medical examinations for essential services and establishing April 7 as National Health Day.

The Ministry of Health has responded by issuing an action plan involving 40 specific tasks to implement these policies. A primary focus is placed on communication, education, and public health awareness.

In regional applications of these health initiatives, Ha Tinh province reports that over 51.6% of its population has received periodic health screenings or free medical examinations. Additionally, medical professionals are working to strengthen grassroots healthcare capabilities through technical transfers and specialized support.
