Vietnam to establish ‘Vietnam Culture Day’ as national brand

Vietnam is implementing a strategic plan to establish ‘Vietnam Culture Day’ (November 24) as a national cultural brand for the 2026–2030 period. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has directed that celebrations must move away from administrative-style ceremonies in halls toward community-based activities in public spaces such as squares, museums, and parks. The initiative aims to prioritize public engagement, utilizing digital transformation and artificial intelligence to promote cultural identity and heritage tourism. Each province is encouraged to showcase at least one unique cultural product or space to foster local tourism.

In addition to cultural initiatives, the government is addressing various regulatory and economic matters. New guidelines have been issued regarding civilized lifestyle standards for weddings and funerals to ensure they align with customs and public order. On the economic front, Ho Chi Minh City reported significant foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, reaching $17.2 billion through September 2026, exceeding annual targets. Meanwhile, national land-use planning is being adjusted to support long-term socio-economic development goals, including targets for GDP growth and the digital economy.
