Vietnam implements new National Security Strategy and economic targets

Vietnam has introduced several major national policies and economic updates. Under Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW, a new National Security Strategy has been established, emphasizing an integrated approach that combines traditional and modern security methods under the absolute leadership of the Communist Party.

Economically, Vietnam is targeting significant growth, aiming for an average annual GDP increase of at least 10% between 2026 and 2030. In the first seven months of 2026, retail sales and consumer service revenue reached approximately $174 billion, representing a 13.1% year-on-year increase.

Social and regional developments include the rollout of a national child protection programme for 2026–2030 to prevent child labor, and the city of Hai Phong ranking first in the 2025 Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Index. Additionally, diplomatic efforts continue through a visit by the President of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire and a strategic dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Singapore's People's Action Party.
