Vietnam International Fashion Week 2026 faces public backlash over production while showcasing celebrity line‑up

Netizens have criticised the Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) for a perceived decline in production quality. Observers cite repetitive U‑shaped runway designs, cramped venue logistics at Nguyen Du Stadium, and livestream issues that focus on celebrity exposure rather than clothing craftsmanship. Social media commentary describes the event as a "content hot‑pot" and laments the shift from fashion innovation to drama and spectacle.

The 2026 edition launched on 18 June in Ho Chi Minh City and featured a roster of designers, models and entertainers. Highlights included performances by actress Tô Diệp Hà, singers Kim Tuyến and Tóc Tiên, Miss Cosmo participants and several beauty pageant title‑holders. Designers such as Adrian Anh Tuan, Tom Trandt and NOBODY KNOWS presented collections ranging from resort‑wear inspired by marine motifs to avant‑garde unisex looks. The four‑day show displayed a mix of haute‑couture gowns, corset‑styled dresses and modern suiting, drawing attention from both fashion insiders and the general public.
