Vietnam Issues Decree on Support Policies for Party, Police and Military Leaders

The Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 199/2026/NĐ‑CP on 5 June 2026, establishing a support‑service policy for leadership positions within the Party Politburo, the Party’s managing secretariat, the People's Police and the People’s Army. The decree applies to officials listed in Party Directive 368‑QĐ/TW (dated 8 September 2025) and defines two grades of positions. Grade 1 includes standing members of the Central Committee, deputy heads of key Party and state bodies, senior ministers, heads of the National Assembly’s standing committees, and top police and military commanders. Grade 2 covers deputy committee chairs, heads of national academies, senior directors of state media, and senior officials of mass‑organization bodies. Officials already covered by Prime Minister’s Decision No. 36/2015/QĐ‑TTg (dated 27 August 2015) are excluded from the new decree.
