Vietnam issues new climate change and national security directives

To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President, has promulgated Conclusion No. 75-KL/TW regarding environmental protection and proactive climate change response. Adopted during the third plenum of the 14th Central Committee, the document emphasizes that environmental protection and climate adaptation must be central to development decisions. It sets goals for 2030 to strengthen environmental management and disaster prevention to protect the lives, health, and livelihoods of the population.

Additionally, the leadership has issued Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW concerning the national security strategy. This resolution, also approved during the third plenum, establishes a comprehensive, proactive, and inclusive approach to national security, placing it under the absolute and direct leadership of the Party and the unified management of the State.
