Vietnam issues severe rainstorm warnings across regions

Vietnam's National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasts warned of widespread heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds on July 12, affecting Hanoi, the northern, central and southern provinces. The forecast noted localized downpours of up to 100 mm, with possible hail, tornadoes, flash floods, landslides and damage to crops, homes and infrastructure.

A similar outlook was issued for July 14‑15, with the north experiencing sunny, hot spells while the central highlands and south continued to see intense showers and thunderstorms. Maritime alerts covered the South China Sea, where southwest winds of force 5‑6 could generate waves up to 4 m, posing risks to vessels. The weather agency classified the overall natural‑disaster risk at level 2.

Authorities urged the public to stay alert, protect property and heed safety instructions.
