Vietnam auto market rebounds in June 2026 with rising sales
Vietnam’s automobile market showed signs of recovery in June 2026. The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) reported a total industry volume (TIV) of 24,356 units, 13 % lower than June 2025, but the year‑to‑date (January‑June) total reached 100,321 units, a 12 % increase over the same period last year.
Passenger‑car sales fell 13 % YoY to 15,581 units, while hybrid vehicle sales rose 41 % to 2,347 units and contributed to the overall growth. VinFast, a non‑VAMA member, posted a 58 % YoY increase, delivering 17,955 units, driven largely by its Limo Green model. Toyota remained the top seller with 6,949 units, followed by Mitsubishi (3,158) and Ford (2,741). Promotional discounts and incentives helped sustain demand despite broader economic headwinds.
The data indicate that while the market is still recovering from a low‑sales period, stronger performance in hybrid and electric segments and aggressive pricing are supporting a gradual rebound.
