Vietnam labor and private sector development updates
In Hanoi, local authorities are working toward a 2026 goal of providing employment for 170,000 workers. As of September 15, the city has successfully placed 160,981 individuals, reaching 94.1% of its annual target. A recent job fair in the Gia Lam area featured 42 enterprises seeking 3,773 employees, with a significant portion of roles designated for workers with high school education. Officials noted that the expansion of construction, technical, manufacturing, and logistics sectors continues to drive demand, while also highlighting opportunities for older workers to adapt to an aging population.
In Lam Dong, the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association and provincial leaders held a dialogue as part of the Vietnam Private Sector Forum 2026. The session focused on overcoming institutional, capital, land, and human resource obstacles to stimulate private sector growth. Discussions emphasized the need for institutional reform, improved business environments, and better access to credit for small and medium-sized enterprises. Experts suggested leveraging technology-driven growth and public-private partnerships to transform the province's potential in high-tech agriculture, tourism, and logistics into tangible economic value.
