Quang Tri Province Announces 2026 Peace Festival Promoting International Harmony

Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, held a press conference to launch the 2026 Peace Festival. The event, themed "From Memory to Future – Quang Tri for Peace," will run from April to December 2026 and feature cultural performances, art exhibitions, sports competitions, tourism promotions, and investment and trade fairs.

The festival aims to honour war heroes, showcase Quang Tri's heritage, and spread a message of peace to domestic and international audiences. Officials said the programme, broadcast live on VTV1, will blend traditional and modern elements, linking the north‑south banks of the Bến Hải River via the historic Hiền Lương Bridge. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Mạnh Cường cited UN Secretary‑General António Guterres, stating, "Peace is the greatest strength to build a better future," and emphasised the festival as a concrete step in Vietnam’s soft‑power strategy to support global dialogue and sustainable development.
