Vietnam to link Culture Day with Great National Unity Day

Vietnam has announced the integration of Vietnam Culture Day (November 24) with the Great National Unity Day (November 18) to create a week-long series of cultural activities. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra signed Directive 35/CT-TTg to implement this initiative, which aims to honor traditional values, foster patriotism, and promote national solidarity.

The initiative focuses on a people-centered approach, moving away from administrative formalities and wasteful displays. Key objectives include using cultural heritage as a lever to stimulate tourism and local cultural industries. Local authorities are encouraged to showcase unique cultural products, such as traditional festivals, culinary spaces, or walking streets, to boost regional economies.

Additionally, the directive calls for the digital transformation of heritage and encourages the business community to support these events by offering discounts or fee waivers at museums and historical sites.
