Vietnam launches YADEA Omee electric scooter amid green trade drive

YADEA Vietnam unveiled the Omee electric scooter, a compact, smart‑connected model aimed at schoolchildren, especially female students. Produced in Bắc Ninh, the bike offers a 48 km/h top speed, up to 89 km range per charge, a 4.3‑inch TFT display with Bluetooth, safety systems such as TCS and GPS tracking, and prices ranging from 15.99 million to 21.99 million VND. The launch coincides with a strategic partnership with ride‑hailing firm Be Group, which will promote the model to its drivers and provide subsidies of up to 5 million VND for eligible purchases.

At the same time, Vietnamese exporters face new European green‑trade requirements, including the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and carbon‑footprint labeling tied to free‑trade agreements. Experts say complying with these rules and expanding green credit are essential for maintaining market access. They recommend strengthening legal frameworks, developing carbon‑credit exchanges, and boosting public awareness to accelerate Vietnam’s broader green transition.
