On 6 July 2026 Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng attended a ceremony at Lê Thị Riêng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, laying flowers and incense at the monument to revolutionary martyrs. The event marked the launch of a search for and collection of the remains of fallen heroes.

The same day Vice‑Prime Minister Nguyễn Văn Thắng visited central Vietnam, paying tribute at historic sites including Truông Bồn, where 1,240 martyrs fell, and the Ngã ba Đồng Lộc crossroads, noted for the sacrifice of 13 young volunteers and 10 female volunteers in 1968.
