Vietnam Limits University Applications to 15 Choices for 2026 Admissions

The 2026 university admission cycle in Vietnam will cap students' listed preferences at a maximum of 15 options, down from an unlimited number previously. To help applicants make the most of the reduced slots, experts recommend a three‑tier strategy. The first tier includes 3‑5 dream programmes, the second tier 3‑5 fields with past cutoff scores close to the applicant’s own results, and the third tier 3‑5 safe choices where the candidate’s scores exceed historical thresholds. The approach aims to balance ambition with realistic chances of acceptance and to improve overall admission outcomes.
