Vietnam live pork prices hold steady as market supply expands

On 5 July, live pig prices in Vietnam stayed within a narrow band of 60,000‑66,000 đồng per kilogram. In the north, prices clustered between 65,000‑66,000 đồng/kg, with Cao Bằng, Thái Nguyên and Hanoi at the top. The central and Central‑Highland regions traded between 61,000‑65,000 đồng/kg, while the south remained the cheapest, ranging from 60,000‑63,000 đồng/kg, with Đồng Nai and Ho Chi Minh City at the high end of the southern market.

By 7 July, the upward trend reversed in the north, with prices in Tuyên Quang falling to 64,000 đồng/kg and other provinces slipping to 65,000 đồng/kg. The overall range stayed the same, but the slight dip followed a brief rise the previous weekend. The Ministry of Agriculture reported a 4.7 % increase in pork supply in Q2 2026, contributing to the modest price moderation. Retail prices for pork cuts remained stable, with beef‑like cuts such as ba rọi and sườn non trading around 162,000‑166,000 đồng/kg in supermarkets.
