Vietnam mandates daily publication of school meal photos for parental oversight

The Vietnamese Prime Minister has issued Directive No. 33/CT-TTg to strengthen food safety within educational institutions. This measure follows incidents of food poisoning that have impacted the health and psychological well-being of students.

Under the new directive, schools are required to maintain transparency by publicly disclosing daily information to parents. This includes details regarding food suppliers, ingredients, purchase invoices, menus, and actual photographs of student meal trays. Information must be shared via notice boards, websites, technological applications, or online communication groups.

Local authorities and school leaders are tasked with supervising the entire food supply chain, from raw material selection to processing and storage. The goal is to ensure meals meet nutritional standards and comply with Ministry of Health guidelines to prevent the use of low-quality or untraceable ingredients.
