Vietnam manufacturing PMI rises to 52.9 in July 2026

Vietnam's manufacturing sector showed significant improvement in July 2026, with the Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) rising to 52.9, its highest level since February of that year.

Economic data for the first seven months of 2026 indicates robust growth across several sectors. Registered foreign direct investment in the country reached $38.06 billion, a 58% increase year-on-year. Meanwhile, Vietnam's total outward investment rose to $2.36 billion, representing a 4.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

In terms of trade, seven categories of goods recorded export values exceeding $10 billion each during the first seven months, accounting for nearly 70% of the nation's total export value. Electronics, computers, and components led this group with turnover surpassing $85 billion. Additionally, the tourism sector saw growth, with 13.9 million international visitors arriving in the first seven months, a 13.8% increase from the previous year.
