Thái Nguyên authorities search for missing persons after boat capsizes
Authorities in Thái Nguyên are conducting search and rescue operations following a boat capsizing on the Linh Nham River on August 25. The incident occurred near the Tân Thái spillway, at the boundary of Đồng Hỷ and Văn Hán communes.
A composite boat carrying four men struck the water discharge gate of the Linh Nham dam, causing it to capsize. One passenger, Dương Xuân Hưởng, managed to swim to shore and is receiving medical attention.
As of August 26, rescue teams have recovered the body of one victim, identified as Đặng Bá Lưu. Search efforts continue for the remaining two individuals. The operation involves local police, military units, and specialized rescue teams navigating difficult conditions, including high water levels and strong currents caused by recent heavy rains.
