Vietnam marks 80th Veteran‑Marty Day with provincial visits and national steering committee plan

On 20 July, officials from An Giang province led by Deputy Party Secretary Trần Thị Thanh Hương visited six families of war veterans in Long Xuyên, presenting gifts and thanking them for their sacrifices on the 79th anniversary of Veteran‑Marty Day.

The same day, Ho Chi Minh City Party leaders, including Deputy Party Secretary Đặng Minh Thông and Văn Thị Bạch Tuyết, toured several districts to meet families of distinguished veterans, offering gratitude and well‑wishes.

Separately, the national Ban Chỉ đạo issued Decrees 73/2026 and 74/2026 establishing its charter and activity plan for the 80‑year commemoration of Veteran‑Marty Day (27 July 2026–27 July 2027), detailing its organisational structure, meeting procedures and responsibilities under the Deputy Prime Minister.
