Vietnam Ministry of Construction announces maximum vehicle inspection fees

The Ministry of Construction has officially issued the maximum price list for motor vehicle inspection services and first-time inspection exemptions. Under the new regulations, inspection fees for passenger cars up to 8 seats are capped at 281,800 VND, while vehicles with more than 39 seats can reach a maximum of 400,000 VND.

For trucks and specialized vehicles, the maximum fee varies based on the number of axles and energy type, ranging from 390,900 VND to 518,200 VND. Notably, vehicles utilizing clean or green energy are eligible for discounted rates, with reductions ranging from approximately 9,100 to 27,300 VND per vehicle.

These price caps serve as a regulatory basis for the Vietnam Register to supervise inspection facilities and ensure transparency. While inspection centers retain the right to set their own prices, they are strictly prohibited from exceeding these established maximum limits to protect consumer interests.
