Vietnam Ministry of Education clarifies preschool teacher promotion criteria

The Ministry of Education and Training has clarified the regulations regarding the calculation of professional rank duration for preschool teachers seeking promotion.

According to Circular No. 13/2024/TT-BGDĐT issued on October 30, 2024, time spent holding the rank of preschool teacher Grade IV (code V. 07. 02. 06) is recognized as equivalent to the time spent holding Grade III (code V. 07. 02. 26).

Other qualifying periods include time spent in various previous preschool teacher ranks, specific professional titles, and periods of work that comply with social insurance regulations as defined by government decrees. While rank duration is a key factor, it is only one of several standards and conditions required for teachers to apply for promotion to Grade II (code V. 07. 02. 25), which are subject to local authority plans and guidelines.
