Vietnam Ministry of Education orders textbook supply review
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has issued a directive to ensure the full supply of textbooks for the 2026-2027 school year. Following instructions from Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau, the Ministry requested that local departments of education and the Vietnam Education Publishing House conduct thorough reviews to identify shortages at the school, commune, and provincial levels.
To address immediate needs, authorities are instructed to redistribute surplus textbooks from areas with excess to those facing shortages. The Ministry emphasized that no student should be left without a solution for missing materials. In regions where printed books are delayed, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has been requested to provide free electronic textbooks to students, parents, and teachers.
Priority will be given to boarding schools in border areas, remote regions, and locations with difficult socio-economic conditions, as well as students eligible for textbook support. Local departments must also publicize distribution points and contact information to ensure easy access for families.
