Vietnam Ministry of Finance proposes 0.2% tax on unused land

The Ministry of Finance has officially submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to implement a 0.2% tax on unused land. This measure is intended to stimulate the real estate market by discouraging land hoarding.

Experts have advised that the criteria for this tax must be clearly defined to prevent the accidental taxation of land used for grass cultivation, cattle grazing, or projects currently facing legal hurdles.
