Vietnam Ministry of Health proposes health insurance coverage for disease screening

The Ministry of Health has proposed that the Health Insurance Fund cover the costs for screening and early diagnosis of hypertension and diabetes. These two conditions are common, yet many cases currently remain undetected.

Additionally, there are proposals to expand health insurance benefits to include periodic check-ups and screening for several types of cancer. Some groups may see their health insurance coverage levels increased to 85% starting in 2027.
