Vietnam Ministry of Home Affairs to review civil servant salaries
Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs is initiating a comprehensive review of salary policies for civil servants and public employees. The review will encompass minimum wages, base salaries, salary scales, allowances, and specific wage mechanisms to assess their direct impact on income.
Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Tien Hai emphasized the importance of finalizing the draft scheme for salary and social insurance reform. The ministry aims to complete the draft scheme between August and October 2026, with a goal to finalize the draft resolution by January 2027 for submission to the Politburo. Additionally, the ministry is tasked with conducting a wage survey in 2026 and developing regulations regarding labor relations and social insurance coverage.
