Vietnam moves ahead with major highway projects in Quảng Ngãi‑Kon Tum and Hữu Nghị‑Chi Lăng
Sun Group is advancing the Quảng Ngãi–Kon Tum highway, an 82‑km, four‑lane road slated to cost about 25.1 trillion VND. The investor seeks a public‑private partnership and is finalising whether the contract will be BT or BOT, hoping the project will boost tourism in Măng Đen.
The Hữu Nghị–Chi Lăng border highway, spanning 59.87 km and linking the Hữu Nghị border gate to the Bắc Giang‑Lạng Sơn expressway, has reached roughly 73 % of its contract value, with a revised budget of 11.8 trillion VND. Construction is proceeding with thousands of workers and equipment, though land‑acquisition and relocation issues remain. Completion will shorten freight transport times and raise trade capacity at the Lạng Sơn border crossing.
