Vietnam names Nguyễn Tiến Hải acting Minister of Interior

On 20 July, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng signed Decision No. 1315/QD‑TTg transferring Nguyễn Tiến Hải, a Central Committee member and An Giang Provincial Party Secretary, to the Ministry of Home Affairs and granting him the authority of the interior minister. Nguyễn Tiến Hải, born 1965, previously served in senior positions in Cà Mau province and holds a master’s degree in public administration.

At the same Central Committee meeting in Hanoi, the 14th Party Congress voted to remove Bùi Văn Hải, former Central Committee member and former Party Secretary of Bắc Giang (now Bắc Ninh), from all Party posts. The disciplinary action follows a recommendation from the Central Inspection Committee and reflects the Party’s ongoing personnel reshuffle.

Both actions were announced during the third plenary session of the Party’s 14th Central Committee, which also included ceremonial visits to the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum and discussions on various policy reforms.
