Vietnam National Assembly Chairman meets Liechtenstein Prime Minister
Vietnam National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Liechtenstein Prime Minister Brigitte Haas on October 19 during her official visit to Vietnam. This visit marks the first time a Liechtenstein Prime Minister has traveled to Vietnam since diplomatic relations were established in 2008.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in high-tech sectors, finance, and science. Discussions highlighted the significance of the Vietnam-EFTA Free Trade Agreement and the double taxation avoidance agreement between Vietnam and Liechtenstein as essential legal frameworks for expanding investment, trade, and production.
Vietnam expressed its commitment to improving institutions and creating a favorable legal environment for foreign investors, including those from Liechtenstein. The visit is viewed as a milestone to deepen political trust and leverage Liechtenstein’s role within the European Free Trade Association and Vietnam’s role within ASEAN.
