Vietnam National Assembly President to visit China

Vietnamese National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man is scheduled to conduct an official visit to China from October 11 to 15, 2026. This visit marks his first trip to China since assuming office and aims to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the construction of a Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future.

A key component of the visit is the second meeting of the Joint Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China. This high-level mechanism is designed to enhance legislative cooperation, provide a legal framework for economic and technological collaboration, and ensure the implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level state visits.

Expected areas of cooperation include strategic transport connectivity, smart ports, cross-border economic zones, urban governance, and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, green economy, and high-quality human resource training. The visit follows significant diplomatic momentum, including state visits by Vietnamese President To Lam to China in April 2026, reinforcing the strategic priority Vietnam places on its relationship with China.
