A Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, led by Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh, conducted an official visit to Germany from September 24 to 26, 2026. The mission focused on strengthening the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership through parliamentary diplomacy and community engagement.

During the visit, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh held talks with German Bundestag Vice President Bodo Ramelow and met with Armin Laschet, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Discussions centered on enhancing political trust, increasing high-level exchanges, and leveraging the role of both parliaments in monitoring bilateral agreements. Economic cooperation was also a priority, with calls to maximize the benefits of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and encourage German investment in Vietnam’s digital and green transitions.

The delegation also met with the Vietnamese community in Germany. Representatives from various associations, businesses, and intellectuals expressed their desire to serve as a bridge for trade, investment, science, and technology. Vietnamese experts and students in Germany emphasized their commitment to contributing to their homeland's development while preserving their cultural identity.
