On July 1, the Ministry of Education and Training released the 2026 high‑school graduation exam results for over 1.2 million candidates. The published score tables show notable trends: Mathematics saw a sharp rise in perfect scores, with more than 4,200 students earning 10 points and an average of 5.65, while Literature’s average was 6.5 and no candidate achieved a perfect 10; the highest literature scores were three 9.75s earned by students from THPT Chuyên Quốc Học in Huế. A “golden table” recorded 45 top‑scoring students from 34 provinces, the highest national marks being 38.5/40, achieved by candidates from Hải Phòng and Điện Biên. Provincial averages shifted, with Ninh Bình moving to the top overall (average 6.32) and Hanoi ranking second. Tuyên Quang rose to second place nationwide in English average scores.

The university‑admission calendar was also detailed: registration of up to 15 preferences runs from 2 July to 14 July; fees are paid 15 July–21 July; the centralized virtual‑filtering of applications occurs 4 August–10 August; first‑round admission results are posted by 13 August, and online enrollment confirmation must be completed by 21 August. A new rule requires all applicants to achieve at least 15 points across any three‑subject combination, prompting concern among lower‑scoring students. Universities have begun forecasting admission cut‑offs, with many programs expected to lower standards by 1–3 points, especially in the C00 group.
