Vietnam outlines cultural development strategy at 3rd Party Central Committee plenum
At the third plenary session of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, General Secretary and President To Lam issued directives that view culture as a core internal driving force for sustainable development. The meeting identified four gaps and three major shifts that artists and cultural enterprises must address, emphasizing the transformation of artistic works into distinctive cultural goods for export while upholding national pride.
Vương Duy Biên, People’s Artist and former deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the leadership’s guidance “inspires great confidence and high expectations among artists for the development of Vietnamese culture.” The plenum’s resolutions aim to build a disciplined, safe, civilized, and harmonious society, strengthening the cultural industry and promoting Vietnamese cultural values domestically and abroad.
