Vietnam Parliament to Fast-Track Housing and Real Estate Law Reforms

The Vietnamese Government has prepared a proposal to amend the Housing Law and the Law on Real Estate Business, aiming to submit the drafts to the National Assembly through an expedited procedure during the first extraordinary session.

Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn announced that the session, set to begin in early August after a preparatory meeting on 8‑9 July, will address these and other urgent items. The Standing Committee will also review a draft amendment to the Land Law, with a scheduled submission around 28 July.

The chairman urged ministries to adhere strictly to the timetable, warning that ministers responsible for delayed or incomplete drafts will be held accountable to the Prime Minister and the Standing Committee. He stressed that the new laws must be accompanied by implementing decrees and guidelines to take effect immediately and meet public and business expectations.
