Vietnam peacekeeping forces depart for UN missions

Vietnamese peacekeeping personnel have departed from Noi Bai International Airport to undertake United Nations missions abroad. The deployment includes specialized units recently mobilized by the Ministry of National Defence.

Specifically, 63 personnel from Level 2 Field Hospital No. 8 are being deployed to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Additionally, 184 officers and staff from Engineering Unit No. 5 are heading to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

Beyond medical and engineering units, Vietnam also contributes individual officers to roles such as military observers and staff officers at various missions and the United Nations Headquarters. Before deployment, personnel undergo rigorous training in areas including field medicine, international humanitarian law, foreign languages, and technical logistics to prepare for field conditions.
