Vietnam pilots visa exemptions for Chinese tour groups in Khanh Hoa

The Vietnamese government has signed Resolution No. 325/NQ-CP to pilot a visa exemption program for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports. This initiative is part of the Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027.

The pilot program is scheduled to run from October 12, 2026, through December 31, 2027. Under the new rules, eligible travelers must visit Khanh Hoa Province as part of a tour group consisting of at least two people. These groups must participate in package tours organized by Vietnamese international travel companies, with each visit lasting no more than 30 days.

To qualify, tourists must fly directly from mainland China to Cam Ranh International Airport and must enter and exit the country through this specific airport. The exemption excludes holders of Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Region passports. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will oversee the implementation and management of participating travel companies, while the Ministry of Public Security will manage entry and exit procedures.
