Vietnam PM Lê Minh Hưng visits Russia for ASEAN‑Russia 35‑year partnership summit
Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng will lead a senior Vietnamese delegation to Kazan, Russia from 16‑18 June to attend the ASEAN‑Russia High‑Level Summit marking 35 years of partnership. The visit is his first to Russia in the role of prime minister and follows his recent participation in the ASEAN summit in the Philippines.
Vietnam aims to reinforce its position as a bridge between ASEAN and Russia, seeking to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership. Discussions will cover expanding cooperation in trade, energy, science‑technology, education, and non‑traditional security challenges, as well as broader engagement with the Eurasian Economic Union, SCO and BRICS. The prime minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin and meet the head of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Vietnamese officials stress that the summit will set the direction for ASEAN‑Russia collaboration through 2027‑2030, with Vietnam poised to coordinate future initiatives and promote concrete projects that benefit businesses and citizens of both sides.
