Vietnam police crack down on foreign residency violations in Thanh Hóa and illegal Chinese entry in Cao Bằng
Police teams in Thanh Hóa province inspected 80 apartments and other lodging facilities housing foreign residents. The checks focused on registration and temporary residence reporting. Inspectors found one foreign individual without identification documents and fined a lodging operator 4 million VND for failing to register a foreign guest, citing the relevant government decree.
In a separate operation in Cao Bằng province, police discovered three Chinese citizens attempting to enter Vietnam illegally while driving a vehicle from Hanoi. The individuals could not produce legal entry documents and were handed over to the provincial security investigation agency for further inquiry. Authorities reminded the public to comply with immigration laws and to report any suspected illegal entry or residency violations.
