Vietnam police fine driver, bus owner for illegal Miss Hương Giang parade
On 19 June, Ho Chi Minh City traffic police (CSGT) reported that the driver of a double‑deck bus used to parade Miss Hương Giang after her return from the International Peace Beauty All‑Stars 2026 contest violated several regulations. The vehicle operated on routes not approved by the city’s construction department and displayed advertising exceeding the permitted surface area.
CSGT fined the driver 700,000 VND and the bus owner 11 million VND for route violations, plus an additional 3.5 million VND for the excess advertising. The authorities also temporarily confiscated a driver's licence and removed the vehicle’s licence plate. Officials emphasized that the penalties were applied based on the specific infractions, not the celebrity status of the passenger, underscoring equal treatment under the law. The police urged organisations to use vehicles that match their intended purpose, hold the correct business permits and follow approved routes for promotional activities.
